Artistic Concept
“Free Spirit” is a series that celebrates the beauty and freedom of the female body through the fusion of abstract and figurative art. This collection of 10 works highlights the rawness and simplicity of charcoal drawing, representing the beauty of imperfection and simplicity. The nudity of the female figures not only symbolizes personal freedom, but also spiritual and emotional freedom, stripping away all complexes and restrictions.
Inspiration
The inspiration for “Free Spirit” stems from the censorship I have faced on social media when sharing drawings of the naked body. These experiences led me to reflect on the various forms of censorship and restrictions present in our society. For me, the naked body, in its maximum expression, is a symbol of our personal and emotional freedom, free of inhibitions and complexes.
Themes and Technique
The series combines the beauty of the female body with the expressiveness of abstract art. Charcoal, with its raw and simple texture, highlights the beauty of imperfection, while the abstract elements represent freedom of expression. I also use structures to immerse the viewer in an additional dimension. This mix of styles not only highlights the female figure, but also conveys a powerful message of freedom.
With “Free Spirit”, my goal is that the viewers feel freedom in a personal, spiritual and emotional form and reflect on the restrictions and censorship imposed by society and ourselves.
